Ending hunger is the second Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) that aims to improve the quality of life for millions of people who suffer from hunger and poverty around the world. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization report, more than 690 million people worldwide suffer from hunger and struggle to access adequate food to maintain a healthy life. Hunger is one of the world’s most significant global challenges that greatly affect public health, education, and economic growth. Therefore, the world may lose the opportunity to achieve social and economic sustainability if hunger and poverty are not addressed. This goal aims to increase agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and provide social protection for the poor and deprived. To achieve this goal, governments, local communities, and international organizations must work together to improve access to food, increase agricultural productivity, and enhance food systems. The actions required to achieve this goal include increasing agricultural productivity, improving agricultural infrastructure, providing appropriate agricultural technology, promoting sustainable development in rural communities, raising awareness of the importance of healthy food. In addition, social protection must be provided for the poor and deprived, education on proper nutrition and social protection for poor and deprived families must be promoted, and investment in agriculture should be increased to provide agricultural goods at reasonable prices and improve access to nutritious food in general. Achieving this goal requires a focus on the underlying factors of hunger, such as poverty, displacement, conflicts, climate change, and environmental destruction. Effective action must be taken to combat these factors and achieve food security for everyone. Since good nutrition is a fundamental right for all people, healthy and nutritious food must be provided to those in need, and cooperation among countries, organizations, and local communities must be improved to achieve this vital goal”.
